Review: David Mogo, Godhunter

Hello dear reader(s) and welcome back to another instalment of Nessa reads and reviews! In today’s review I’ll share my thoughts and general musings on David Mogo, Godhunter; a godpunk novel by the Nigerian author Suyi Davies Okungbowa. So without further ado let’s get into the review.

Review: Small Spaces series

Review: Small Spaces series

Hello dear reader(s) and welcome to another (quite spoiler-y) episode of Nessa reads and reviews. Spooky season is upon us, so in today’s instalment I’ll do my very best to write a concise and coherent review of Katherine Arden’s horror series Small Spaces. Most likely I will fail on both fronts, but we’ll see how it goes yeah. 🙂 As I mentioned in the very first sentence of this text there will be spoilers in this review. If I can, I usually do my very best to avoid spoilers while writing a review, but sometimes they are necessary. The most important thing is that everyone is aware of this fact at the very beginning so they can skip ahead to the opinion part of the text, or skip the text entirely. Ye have been warned. 🙂

August review roundup

August review roundup

Hello dear reader(s) and welcome back to another episode of Nessa reads and reviews! It’s been a while since I last posted and the non-activity is mostly due to the combination of work, having family over and very little free time. Sadly (well at least for me it’s sad, I don’t know about you guys) the only reading I managed to in August was during Dewey’s Reverse Readathon that was held on the 2nd of August. However, even that was disrupted by my job and life in general. But at least I managed to read 3 books on the Kindle app on my mobile phone during that weekend so I’ll take my victories where I can get them. 😀

Review: Pretty Honest

Hello dear reader(s) and welcome back to another instalment of Nessa reads and reviews! I’m reviewing Sali Hughes’ Pretty Honest: The Straight-Talking Beauty Companion with a full face of makeup. It’s a Saturday afternoon and my plans for today consist of writing up this review and sitting on the couch catching

sp1-1

A tropical fruit basket I tell ya!

up on David Attenborough’s Our Planet documentary on Netflix. Still, I did a green smoky eye, put on foundation, blush, highlight and toped everything with a red lipstick just for the heck of it. Because I enjoy the combination of green eyeshadow and red lipstick. Because it’s the weekend, I have no prior obligations and I can play with makeup. However, if a friend invited me out for coffee or dinner or just to hang out… I have absolutely no problem going out of the house looking like a tropical fruit basket. 🙂 I happen to enjoy colourful eye looks, and greens and blues are among my favourite colours. What can I say, I’m a 80s girl. 😀 Although my makeup experimentations are amusing (at least to me they are, and on that high not I’m attaching a picture of me looking like a tropical fruit basket. You’re welcome and I’m sorry. 😀 ) I need to stop digressing and get back to reviewing this book.
